14/03/2010: Manchester United - Fulham 3-0 (Premier League)

Scritto da: admin, il 14 March 2010, 1:02 pm

Fulham were more than competitive in the first half at Old Trafford although Rooney was again the most dangerous player on the pitch in the opening 45, and within thirty seconds of the restart Wayne Rooney got on the scoresheet as (just like against Milan) Nani teed up the number 10 who coolly slotted home. The Cottagers fell away after falling behind, but United had to wait until the 83rd minute for Berbatov to work his magic down the right and Wayne Rooney netted his second of the game as his phenomenal season continued. With United coasting, Park swung in a late cross from the right that Dimitar Berbatov converted with a diving header at the near post.

Just before the half hour mark the Tigers levelled with a controversial goal after Campbell fell on Hesselink in the box after the striker looked offside in the build up and Jimmy Bullard converted from the spot. With the match entering the 92nd minute Arsenal snatched a winner to reaffirm their title credentials, Nicklas Bendtner becoming the hero when he pounced on Denilson’s parried shot.

The Hammers, battling for their top flight survival, pulled level through Scotty Parker just before the half hour as the returning midfielder scored against his former employers with a class half-volley from 22-yards. 13/03/2010: Tottenham - Blackburn 3-1 (Premier League)

Scritto da: admin, il 13 March 2010, 2:38 pm

After a pretty awful first 45 at White Hart Lane, Jermain Defoe stabbed Spurs into the lead in injury time from a corner that Corluka flicked on, after Rovers had lost keeper Robinson earlier in the half. The Lilywhites doubled their lead nine minutes into the second half when a static Rovers side watched as Defoe played in Roman Pavlyuchenko who drilled a shot through stand-in keeper Brown. Ten minutes from time Blackburn pulled themselves back into the game when Christopher Samba out-jumped Dawson and Corluka from a corner to head home past Gomes. Spurs responded by restoring their 2-goal cushion within five minutes as Bale played in Pavlyuchenko who couldn’t miss from two yards out.
