Sebastian Vettel produced a faultless drive at Silverstone to lead a Red Bull one-two in the British Grand Prix. The 21-year-old tyro finished 15.188 secs ahead of Red Bull team-mate Mark Webber to prove that the much-improved Milton Keynes-based team have the potential to challenge for world championship honours in the second half of the season. Vettel started from the fourth pole of his career and was never challenged as he pulled clear from the start and delivered a perfectly-judged drive to secure the third win of his brief career - and his first in dry weather.

Jenson Button of Brawn GP extended his lead in the World Championship standings to 26 points by winning the Turkish Grand Prix in Istanbul from Red Bull duo Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel. Button’s team-mate Rubens Barrichello, who had said earlier in the week that he expected to fight for the title, lost ground after retiring late in the race. McLaren’s reigning world champion Lewis Hamilton finished 13th after being lapped by his British compatriot for the second successive race. Jarno Trulli (Toyota), Nico Rosberg (Williams), Felipe Massa (Ferrari), Robert Kubica (BMW) and Timo Glock (Toyota) filled the points places.

Britain’s Jenson Button won the Bahrain Grand Prix on Sunday for the Formula One championship leader’s third victory in four races with newcomers Brawn GP this season. The 29-year-old’s success at Sakhir dashed Toyota’s hopes of a breakthrough first win after the Japanese manufacturer had started with both their cars on the front row for the first time. Germany’s Sebastian Vettel was second for Red Bull with Toyota’s Italian Jarno Trulli finishing third from pole position.

German Sebastian Vettel gave Red Bull their first Formula One win with a pole to chequered flag victory ahead of team mate Mark Webber in the rain-soaked Chinese Grand Prix. The 21-year-old claimed the second victory of his career, with Australian Webber taking his best result to date, in a Red Bull one-two on a track that resembled a skidpan for much of the race. Briton Jenson Button, who won the first two races of the season, finished third to extend his championship lead to six points over Brawn GP team mate Rubens Barrichello, who was fourth.
A Shanghai pioggia intensa e partenza dietro alla Safety car: il tedesco Vettel è perfetto e vince con merito davanti a Webber per una doppietta storica. Terzo Button. Raikkonen 10°, Massa fuori per un problema al 21° giro.
Britain’s Jenson Button won a Malaysian Grand Prix cut short by heavy rain for his second victory in a row for the new Brawn GP team. Half points were awarded because only 32 of the scheduled 56 laps had been completed. The race was red-flagged when a torrential downpour, with thunderclaps and lightning streaking across the darkened Sepang skies, made driving conditions impossible even behind the safety car. Button, the championship leader who had again started from pole position after a Brawn one-two in the Australian season-opener last weekend, was leading behind the safety car when officials called a halt.
Britain’s Jenson Button produced a flawless display to win the Australian Grand Prix on the Brawn team’s Formula One debut. Button left team boss Ross Brawn after leading an an astonishing one-two ahead of Brazilian veteran Rubens Barrichello. The 29-year-old, written off as on overpaid has-been after two dismal seasons with Honda, made it look like a walk in the park while his two closest rivals drove each other off the track in the twilight. Barrichello started and finished second but only after Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel and BMW-Sauber’s Robert Kubica collided three laps from the end while second and third respectively.

McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton roared into the record books as Formula One’s youngest champion when he snatched the title in last lap drama at the Brazilian Grand Prix. The 23-year-old, needing only a fifth place finish in the season-ending race to become Britain’s first champion since Damon Hill in 1996, was seconds from failure for the second year in a row as Ferrari rival Felipe Massa swept to victory. Hamilton entered the last lap in sixth place after a late shower forced a change to wet weather tyres and saw Sebastian Vettel’s Ferrari-powered Toro Rosso overtake the McLaren. With the title disappearing as fast as Massa’s Ferrari approached the chequered flag, Hamilton had Toyota’s Timo Glock to thank after the German stayed out on dry tyres and was unable to hold on to his fifth place.
Britain’s Lewis Hamilton has moved to the brink of the Formula One title by winning the Chinese Grand Prix ahead of Felipe Massa. BMW’s Robert Kubica has been mathematically eliminated from contention.
