Brazil ran riot thanks to an inspired display from Luis Fabiano who overshadowed some other big names on the night. Danny put Portugal in front on four minutes, only for Luis Fabiano to equalise five minutes later thanks to great play from Robinho. Kaka set up Luis Fabiano for the second midway through the first half. Early in the second period, Maicon made it 3-1, deceiving Quim at the near post and then Luis Fabiano bagged his hat-trick minutes later. Simao pulled one back for Carlos Queiroz’s side but further goals from Elano (probably the best of the night) and Adriano sealed an impressive friendly win.
The Maracana jeered Dunga, the team and then left early as the Samba Boys produced another lacklustre display.
Dunga.
Dunga’s Brazil started in top form, taking a fifth minute lead when Kaka picked up the ball in midfield, drove towards goal down the right hand side before unleashing an unstoppable drive in the near post. And it got better for the Samba Boys minutes later, Robinho charged down the left, cut inside on his right, and smashed a 30-yard lightening bolt into the net. The first half demolition was completed inside 20 minute as Adriano hit a third with the Venezuelan defenders on their knees. More poor play from the hosts gifted the ball to Adriano, he played in Kaka but his shot was palmed away. In the second half Robinho completed his brace, beating the offside trap and finishing coolly.
