Blackburn took the lead early on with their first attack, Berbatov bringing down Yakubu in the box, allowing the Yak to coolly slot home from the resulting penalty. 1st half highlights. You could have heard a pin drop when the Yak doubled Blackburn’s lead early on in the second half, smashing a shot between the legs of De Gea. Panic was quickly averted, however, as Dimitar Berbatov pulled one back just 23 seconds later, latching onto a Park cross-come-shot. United drew level soon after, Berbatov expertly meeting an Evra cross. Incredibly, Blackburn again took the lead, through sheer will from Grant Hanley, who bullied De Gea in the air to head into the Stretford End. This time they hung on, for a momentous result for much maligned Steve Kean and Blackburn.
