Didier Drogba handed Chelsea the lead midway through the first half as he slotted home a penalty for his 150th Blues’ goal. The Midlanders surprisingly hit back almost immediately as N’Zogbia drove to byline on left before teeing up Stephen Ireland, who scored at second attempt. With seven minutes remaining Stiliyan Petrov made it 2-1 as the Chelsea defence opened up and three minutes later a horror pass from Frank Lampard was gobbled up by Stephen Ireland to set up Darren Bent for the third.
