Roma took the lead when Aquilani got on the end of De Rossi’s through ball to toe-poke the opener. After the break matters worsened for Napoli as Santacroce was sent off. But the southerners failed to take the hint, and drew level when Hamsik put away an overhead volley after the ball rebounded off the bar.

Primo tempo di marca giallorossa: positivi gli esordi di Baptista e Riise, il vantaggio è firmato da Aquilani al 29′. Meglio il Napoli nella ripresa, nonostante l’espulsione di Santacroce al 9′. Un minuto dopo, Hamsik firma l’1-1.
