Man City were denied an opener by a questionable offside call from the linesman after Edin Dzeko converted a cross from Kolarov. With virtually the last touch of the first half City scored, Mario Balotelli getting his name in lights for the right reasons as the moody Italian connected with a bullet header from a corner. A minute after the restart City bagged a second as Edin Dzeko went through the middle following Silva’s superb slide-pass and the Bosnian finished past Cesar. A brilliant reflex save from Joe Hart kept City 2-up in the 56th. Late in the game City grabbed a third as subs Wright-Phillips and Adam Johnson combined to kill off Inter.
