Stuttgart drew first blood early on when the ball hit Santana in a goalmouth scramble and bounced into the net. Ciprian Marica missed a deciding second when his spot kick hit the bar in the 48th, and Dortmund were back in the match when Lucas Barrios grabbed his 10th season goal for the equaliser. But the hosts had the last laugh, sub Zdravko Kuzmanovic drilled a free-kick into the low right corner in the 77th and Ciprian Marica eventually found the net in the 86th after being denied by the bar a second time. Christian Traesch wrapped up matters with a curling effort in the 89th.
