Sebastien Puygrenier put the Trotters in front heading in Davies’s free-kick. Bolton doubled their lead in the 64th minute when striker Kevin Davies shot into the far corner from a Cahill flick-on. Chimbonda’s cut-back found Darren Bent minutes after his introduction from the bench, and two minutes later Bent netted again when Palacios’s shot was parried into his path. But Bolton struck late on, Kevin Davies scoring his second heading in a Taylor corner.
