The first half was a goalless affair despite both Bologna (mainly set-pieces) and Inter both having a series of half chances to break the deadlock. Samuel Eto’o came closest when he hit the bar from close range in the second half, but a tremendous one-handed save by Viviano from Wesley Sneijder’s 73rd minute free-kick was the story of the night.
