After Jack Wilshere was denied a good penalty shout in the first minute, Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal opened midway through the first half with Boca as Gervinho worked the ball down the left hand side before delivering a perfect pass to the near post where Robin van Persie stormed in to score. Inside sixty seconds of the restart Arsenal were 2-up as Aaron Ramsey cracked in a beauty from the edge of the Boca box after good work from Carlos Vela. The Gunners were pegged back in the 69th minute after Squillaci made a mistake that Riquelme exploited before playing in Lucas Viatri who smashed the ball home. Two minutes later Boca scored another as more Arsenal defensive frailties were on show again, Djourou failed to cut out a low through-ball from Riquelme to Pablo Mouche who finished.
