Youngster Thiago Alcantara capitalised on a rare mis control from Lionel Messi to put Barcelona 1-up away and a step closer to the La Liga title. On 71 Diego Ifran equalised for Sociedad with a fine chipped finish. Barcelona looked to have restored their lead but a Gabriel Milito goal was wrongly called offside. With seven minutes remaining a penalty from Xabi Prieto won the match for Sociedad following a Mascherano foul on Griezmann.
