After 20 minutes, Arsenal took the lead on 20 minutes as Theo Walcott (onside?) cut in from the left and slotted past Krul. Just before the break it was 1-1 as Demba Ba saw his free-kick deflected in by Jack Wilshere. Just after the break Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain fired the Gunners 2-1 ahead. Sylvain Marveaux equalised on 59 only for Arsenal to retake the lead five minutes later through Lukas Podolski. But Newcastle came back for a third time on 69 as Demba Ba claimed his second to make it 3-3. And back came Arsenal – on 73 Theo Walcott claimed his second for 4-3. With five minutes to go Theo Walcott turned provider with an excellent cross converted by Olivier Giroud for 5-3. Two minutes later it was 6-3 as substitute Olivier Giroud claimed his second. There was still time for a 7th as Theo Walcott chipped in his hat-trick for 7-3.
