Fernando Torres put Chelsea ahead in the 20th minute from a free kick after poor defending from Arsenal. Eden Hazard showed off some of his silky skills. Gervinho equalised just before the break firing into the roof of the net from an Ox cross. David Luiz got booked early in the second half for taking a tumble in the box. Mata made it 2-1 from a set-piece which Arsenal, once again, didn’t know how to defend. Lukas Podolski had a header well saved by Cech. Olivier Giroud had a brilliant chance to draw Arsenal level but couldn’t direct his shot on goal.
