Inter had a heart-in-mouth moment after just two minutes when Hugo Almeida had an opportunity to lob Cesar for an opener but the Werder midfielder’s effort was cleared near the goalline by Lucio. Inter rode their luck before breaking the deadlock in to 21st, Cambiasso stole the ball in midfield to free Samuel Eto’o and the Cameroonian striker bore down on goal before finishing between Weise’s legs. Just before the half hour Inter went 2-up, Samuel Eto’o showed stunning control to collect a ball over his shoulder and the hitman made no mistake in front of goal. Bremen looked dead and buried in the 35th minute when Eto’o turned provider for Wesley Sneijder who chipped a shot past Weise for 3-nil. Inter sealed the one-sided victory when Samuel Eto’o raced clear in the 82nd minute, rounded the keeper and steered in his hat-trick goal.
