Yago Gonzalez slipped Kitchee ahead in the 7th minute after Miguel gave the ball away too cheaply in the Gunners backline. Arsenal levelled in the 24th minute when Diaby won the ball high up the pitch and slid in Theo Walcott who finished well. The Hong Kong hosts however were only pegged back for a brief period as they carved open the Arsenal defence in the 28th minute and Dani Cancela buried home a second. On the stroke of halftime Abou Diaby blew a great chance to level. With 15 minutes remaining Arsenal levelled as Gervinho took on the entire Kitchee defence before laying up Thomas Eisfeld to pass the ball into an empty net.
