McLaren's Lewis Hamilton led from start to finish to win the Hungarian Grand Prix by less than a second from a charging Kimi Raikkonen, with Romain Grosjean in the sister Lotus completing the podium. World champion Sebastian Vettel was fourth ahead of standings leader Fernando Alonso and Jenson Button. Hamilton maintained his lead off the start from pole and although Raikkonen closed the gap to within less than half a second after his second stop, Hamilton held out for his 19th race victory in Formula One.
