Yossi Benayoun had a chance within seconds of the kick off at Anfield and Dan Agger had a goal disallowed on the half hour. Alberto Aquilani equalised overall in the tie just before the break with a fine finish from a Benayoun cross. Four minutes into injury time, Yossi Benayoun put Rafa Benitez’s side in front for the first time in the tie with a fine left footed finish. But Liverpool’s joy was short lived, just before half time of extra time Diego Forlan scored his second goal of the tie from a terrific cross by Reyes.
