Nikolay Davydenko ended seven years of pain against Roger Federer, beating the world number one 6-2 4-6 7-5 to reach the final of the ATP World Tour Finals in London for a second successive year. The Russian had lost all 12 of his previous clashes with the Swiss magician but produced an inspired performance in front of 17,500 enthralled fans inside the O2 Arena to resist a Federer fightback. Federer was blown away in the first set, losing his serve three times, but he gradually found his range to level the match and then sought out victory in the deciding set.
Nella prima semifinale del Masters Atp di Londra, lo svizzero Federer è stato sconfitto 6-2 4-6 7-5 dal russo Davydenko che contenderà il titolo al vincitore del match tra l’argentino e lo svedese.
