A very youthful Arsenal team took on Burgenland XI, a side made up of an assortment of Austrian players, and the Gunners got off the mark within the first minute. Traore burst down the left, crossed into Jack Wilshere, and his scuffed shot somehow went in. Bendtner scored a quick-fire brace, Carlos Vela then got in on the act, before Bendtner completed his hat-tick in the demolition. Vela added another, Bendtner got his fourth, making it 7-0 to Arsenal before the break. (First half highlights here.) Soon after the restart Vela claimed his hat-trick, Wilshere added another from the spot, and sub-Walcott also got in on the act. Unbelievably, Burgenland then pulled two goals back to restore a little pride.
