Chile matched Brazil until the 34th minute, an outswinging corner by Maicon was headed home powerfully by central defender Juan. Three minutes later a sweeping move saw Kaka play Luis Fabiano in and the Brazil number nine rounded Bravo and tapped in the second. Just before the hour Brazil scored their third, Ramires drove at the heart of the Chile defence and squared for Robinho to curl into the corner.
