Moments after clearing a Wolves attack at the other end Arsenal sprung a clinical counter-attack, that ended when Yossi Benayoun played a sublime slide-pass through to Gervinho in the 8th minute. Arsenal should have doubled their lead after van Persie robbed Henry on the edge of the Wolves box but the visitors rushed defenders back to snuff out Mikel Arteta’s eventual shot. Wolves ignored possession stats to level in the 36th as a corner was sent back in the mixer by Hunt and Steven Fletcher was able head the ball in the net. Wolves were reduced to ten men in the 74th when Nenad Milijas saw red for a rash tackle on Arteta.
