Jon Walters had a sixth minute ‘goal’ chalked off for offside. The Londoners were in uproar just after the hour when Andy Wilkinson mowed down Thomas Vermaelen on the edge of the box. Abou Diaby had a great chance to score for Arsenal but the lanky midfielder got his legs in a muddle in the box. With time running out Olivier Giroud tried to lob a stranded Begovic when passing to Ramsey may have been a wiser choice.
