Marco Melandri stormed to victory in the second World Superbike race of the weekend in Moscow. Tom Sykes, the championship leader and winner of race one, came second with Chaz Davies third in dramatic circumstances. Melandri, who had been stung by a wasp during the opening race in which he came second, never looked under threat as he took the lead and held off Sykes throughout, winning by less than a second.
