It all went pear-shaped for Inter after 22 minutes as Julio Cesar illegally denied goalscoring opportunity to Lazio and got sent off, and Mauro Zarate converted the penalty to give the Romans the lead. Despite their man disadvantage Inter headed into the break on level terms after Wesley Sneijder bent a beautiful free-kick over the wall and into the top corner. Inter moved in front early in the second half when Samuel Eto’o cashed in on a slip up in the Lazio defence to score.
