For much of the opening forty-five it looked like the Rossoneri would have to settle for nice piece’s of skill – Robinho’s effort here – but no end product. But then on the stroke of halftime Cassano played a brilliant dinked pass over to Ibrahimovic, and as defender Maximiliano Pellegrino tried to clear the danger he managed to steer the ball into his own net. Zlatan Ibrahimovic sealed the win in injury time, Robinho slipped a neat pass into the Swede down the right and the red-hot forward hit a brilliant early shot that pierced the side netting of the far post.
