Samp took the lead against Chievo after 20 minute as Andrea Poli diverted a Rossi shot into the net after the Flying Donkeys had failed to clear a set-piece. Giampaolo Pazzini slotted home Samp’s second after the break with the hosts playing some fantastic football to slice through the Chievo defence. Andrea Mantovani set up a tense finish and the defender slammed home a scrappy corner.
