AC Milan’s Clarence Seedorf side-footed home the opener against Cagliari after just five minutes of play. Four minutes later the visitors hit back as Alessandro Matri met a hopeful cross to tidily net the leveller and, after dominating the match from then on, Cagliari went on the take the lead on the half hour as Andrea Lazzari was left in acres of space in the box before picking his spot from five yards out. Within ten minutes Milan had moved back in front, first Marco Borriello had the easy job of nodding the ball over the line after Pato had force a smart save from the goalie, and Alexandre Pato then scored himself with a bullet into the far top corner from Ronaldinho’s fine through-ball. On the hour Ronaldinho fired Milan 4-2 ahead from the spot after Borriello had been hacked down in the box. But again Cagliari hit back, Lazzari playing in Nene who finished with aplomb.
Spettacolo a San Siro dove i rossoneri vincono 4-3. In cattedra il tridente di Leonardo, però i rossoblù non mollano mai lo presa e sfiorano l’impresa.
