Frank Lampard scored a penalty for Chelsea in the 18th minute after Eden Hazard was tripped in the area. The Royals equalised in the 25th minute when Pavel Pogrebnyak buried a header from a McCleary cross. Incredibly Reading moved into the lead in the 29th minute when Petr Cech allowed a Danny Guthrie free-kick to squirm into the net. The Blues levelled in the 69th when Gary Cahill’s long range effort was palmed into the the net by Federici. Ten minutes from time Chelsea took the lead as Ashley Cole slid a pass to Fernando Torres (offside?) and the Spaniard scored from close range. As Reading committed all eleven players for a late free-kick, Chelsea sprung a counter-attack with ended with Branislav Ivanovic scoring his scored goal of the season.
