ugo Almeida’s diving header put Werder in the lead at Freiberg. A cheeky near post free-kick from Marko Marin doubled Bremen lead after the break, and Almeida’s second in the 57th minute put the result to bed. Wunderkid Mesut Ozil was then sent clean through the middle to coolly bury the fourth for Werder. Freiberg were heading for embarrassment when Naldo knocked in the visitors fifth with a penalty, and Markus Rosenberg’s sixth ensure that the humiliation was certified on the home crowd.
