he Miami Heat defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder 121-106 Thursday in Game 5 of the NBA Finals to capture the 2011-12 championship. The Heat won the best-of-seven series 4-1, winning four straight after losing Game 1 in Oklahoma City. LeBron James had a triple double with 26 points, 13 assists and 11 rebounds in a Finals-MVP winning performance. Chris Bosh scored 24 points and Dwyane Wade added 20 and eight rebounds, while Mike Miller hit seven 3's and scored a postseason-high 23 points off the bench. It was the second championship in Heat franchise history. They won the first in 2005-06. The Heat led most of the way, last trailing with 7:43 remaining in the first quarter. Miami led 59-49 at halftime, but took control early in the second half. The Heat outscored Oklahoma City by 14 in the third quarter, leading by as many as 26.
