After their Europa League heroics Fulham were taken apart in the first half at home to Man City, Roque Santa Cruz opened early on after Craig Bellamy hit the post with a powerful low drive. Bellamy was the creator of City’s second too as the Welshman played in Carlos Tevez, the Argentine left Manchester United-bound Chris Smalling on his backside before drilling the ball home from eight yards. The Cottagers grabbed a lifeline 15 minutes from time when Barry was adjudged to have handled in the box and Danny Murphy made no mistake with his spot-kick.
