Real Madrid destroyed Jermaine Pennant’s Zaragoza side 6-0 in the Bernabeu to move two points behind Liga leaders Barcelona. Gonzalo Higuain and Rafael van der Vaart both hit braces in the first half for Real before they were withdrawn in the second. Higuain’s second was sublime and Cristiano Ronaldo also sent a wonderful finish past away keeper Javier Lopez Vallejo in the second half before substitute Karim Benzema finished off the rout.
