Manchester City jumped into the top four with a routine win over Wigan courtesy of goals from Carlos Tevez and Yaya Toure. The Argentine scampered onto a long punt forward by Joe Hart and casually lifted the ball over the advancing Ali Al-Habsi. After the break, £25million summer recruit Yaya Toure broke his City duck, converting Tevez’ low cross.
