Blackpool lasted just two minutes before conceding at Stamford Bridge, Salomon Kalou turning home a Drogba corner at the back stick. Like a knife through butter Chelsea soon added a second when Drogba again filled in the provider role picking out Florent Malouda for the simple finish. A bad day got rapidly worse for Blackpool when Didier Drogba squeezed a shot past Matthew Gilks after it deflected off Evans. Florent Malouda wrapped up a rampant first forty-five drilling in his second of the match after good work from Kalou down the right.
