Spain’s Dani Pedrosa claimed top spot in the world championship MotoGP standings when he won his maiden French Grand Prix on a wet Le Mans course on Sunday. Pedrosa came home ahead of Britain’s Cal Crutchlow, who sealed his highest ever podium finish while riding with a broken leg. Marquez was third, meaning Spaniard Pedrosa leapfrogs his team-mate and compatriot to top the standings. The Honda rider took the lead midway through the race to beat Crutchlow (Yamaha) and rookie Marquez, who were second and third respectively.
