From a short Ribery corner after 20 minutes, a fine left-wing cross was whipped into the Hannover box and Ivica Olic was on hand to head in Bayern’s opener. Before the half hour in was 2-nil Bayern as Arjen Robben was freed down the right hand side and the Dutchman finished with a sublime chip over the keeper. Bayern’s first half dominance against strugglers Hannover was capped when Thomas Muller added a third before the interval. The degree of Hannover’s humiliation was the only question left to be asked at the start of the second half as Ivica Olic and Arjen Robben both claimed their seconds of the game to put Munich 5-up. Thomas Muller made it a hat-trick of braces in the 62nd minute as Bayern ran riot. The match needed a hat-trick hero, and Arjen Robben provided the home fans with a final cheer netting his third at the death.
