16/08/2008: Everton-Blackburn 2-3 (Premier League)
Blackburn moved ahead at Goodison Park, Pederson played in David Dunn who took a touched inside, steadied himself, and curled a sweet left-footer into the bottom right corner. But Paul Robinson was at fault for allowing Everton to equalise on the stroke of half-time, allowing Mikel Arteta to fire home a free-kick in the keeper’s near post from a tight angle. The Toffees moved ahead in the second half, Arteta burst down the left wing, fired in a cross, and Yakubu powered home a header. But back came Paul Ince’s side, Lescott defended poorly from a long ball, allowing Roque Santa Cruz free space in the box and Rovers’ leading striker levelled. Late on it was Andre Ooijer who scored the winner, tapping home from close range.
