An even first half saw the best chances fall to Dimitar Berbatov around the 15 minute mark with Joe Hart saving the first and the Bulgarian scooping over the second. City started the second half well and Yaya Toure made the breakthrough when he robbed Carrick, rounded Vidic and finished past Van der Sar. On 72 United’s task became a lot harder when Paul Scholes received a straight red for a poor challenge on Zabaleta.
