Mario Mandzukic slotted Muller’s cross in just the second minute , and in the 13th minute Bastian Schweinsteiger headed a cross from Badstuber. Mainz gave the hosts a scare 14 minutes into the second half as Adam Szalai slotted in a penalty. Bayern secured the three points thanks to a brilliant volley from Toni Kroos.
