After Italy had wasted a hatful of chance in the first half, Andrea Pirlo stepped up to curl home a sweet free-kick in the 39th minute. The equaliser came with just under 20 minutes to go as Mario Mandzukic claimed his third of the tournament with a back post finish off the post.
