After taking his sugar injections to make Stoke’s starting eleven, defender Robert Hugh was lucky to avoid any punishment after the German slyly elbowed Mario Balotelli in the box in an off-the-ball incident. With 18 minutes remaining Man City, who had dominated the match, finally found the breakthrough as a move involving Baotelli and Silva ended with man-mountain Yaya Toure smashing a shot past the helpless Sorensen.
