Pablo Zabaleta opened the scoring, and calmed the nerves at the Etihad, six minutes before half-time. Three minutes after half-time, Djibril Cisse capitalised on a Joleon Lescott mistake to equalise for QPR. On 55 the complexion of the game changed again as Joey Barton was sent off on his return to his former club. Incredibly, the 10-men of QPR went ahead on 66 with Jamie Mackie bagging a monumental goal. City looked dead and buried but then came an incredible late turnaround. Edin Dzeko equalised on 92 and two minutes later Sergio Aguero capped one of the most remarkable title races ever and secured City the title for the first time in 44 years.
