The Rome derby got off to a red hot start, Lazio taking the lead after 2 minutes as Goran Pandev volleyed home at the back post following a training ground corner routine. And it got better for the blue half of the Stadio Olympico after Mauro Zarate thumped in a tremendous 30-yard ripper three minutes later. Roma soon got a foothold in the match, Philippe Mexes pulling a goal back from a corner. Just before the hour mark Stephan Lichsteiner headed home from close range to restore Lazio’s two goal lead. After three players had been sent off (Panucci & Mexes for Roma, Metuzalem for Lazio) Daniele De Rossi brought Roma back into it but with four minutes remaining Aleksandar Kolarov wrapped up the derby win with a fine individual goal.
