Brazil were stunned in their first half in La Paz, Edgar Oliveras headed home a corner after 10 minutes before Marcelo Martins curled home a stunning free-kick on the half hour The start of the second half was disrupted when a fan ran onto the pitch with a sign, only to be manhandled by three guards. The Samba Boys got themselves on the scoreboard in the 70th minute when a move from front to back was turned over the line by Nilmar’s diving header.
