17/08/2008: 100m Women Final (Athletics - Beijing 2008 Olympic Games)
Jamaica’s Shelly-Ann Fraser won the Olympic gold medal in the women’s 100 metres as her nation dominated the podium. She led compatriots Sherone Simpson and Kerron Stewart to the event’s first national podium sweep. The United States - for whom Lauryn Williams, Muna Lee and Torri Edwards finished fourth, fifth and eighth respectively - saw an appeal against the result rejected.
Shelly Ann Fraser vince in 10″78 davanti a Sherone Simpson e Kerron Stewart, argento ex-aequo. L’etiope vince come ad Atene 2004 la gara più lunga in pista.
