Cristiano Ronaldo put Real Madrid into the lead at Marseille with a cracking dipping swerving trademark free-kick. Parity was restored by Lucho Gonzalez just nine minutes later. Madrid defender Raul Albiol scored in the 60th and Ronaldo rounded off the scoring 10 minutes before the end following a mistake by Marseille goalkeeper Steve Mandanda.
