An entertaining first half, with no real chances created. Rooney managed to turn Carvalho only to put his shot over the bar and Anelka forced a save from Edwin Van der Saar. First half highlights here. Rooney began to take control of the second half narrowly flashing a shot wide and having a curling shot saved by Cech. Darren Fletcher won the ball cleanly from Ashley Cole but Martin Atkinson awarded a free kick to Chelsea . Lampard whipped in a ball which John Terry glanced in to the net. Drogba was in an offside position and could have interfered with play. The United players were furious and Rooney was booked for protesting.
