Brazil had to endure a stiff test in their quarter-final against Nigeria, beating the Beach Eagles 10-8 in extra-time to the reach the last four of the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup 2011 in Ravenna. The South Americans started the brighter of the two sides and amassed a 3-1 lead at the close of the first period. Andre opened the scoring in the ninth minute before Musa Najare drew level for the Africans. Andre bagged two more as the opening period wound down, both from precise shots that picked out the top corner of the net.
