After the opening ceremony of Euro 2012, the Poles looked bright in the opening exchanges as Rafal Murawski forced a smart stop from Greek keeper Kostas Chalkias. In the 17th minute Poland scored as a terrific cross from the right was headed home by Robert Lewandowski (watch live reaction to the goal here). The Greeks were reduced to ten men just before the interval as Sokratis Papastathopoulos (harshly?) collected his second yellow card, while they were further inflamed when Damien Perquis committed a handball in the Poland box but no penalty was given.
